Interested in partnership?

If you are with an organization in need of interns, consider hosting students with SMC’s Field Ministry Internships to serve your Field Project.

In order to become a Field Partner hosting interns, your organization must be leading (or in partnership with an in-country organization) a Field Project, which will at least:

1. Have a history (at least 2 full years) of serving vulnerable people for the purpose of alleviating poverty or reducing vulnerability. Your organization may be an NGO, a company, a hospital, a newspaper, or a church that is both presenting the good news of Christ’s kingdom through either word or deed to your community, especially the vulnerable.
2. Be registered as a legal entity in your country of operation. (Note: We understand that the Field Host may not qualify. For this reason, we encourage the Field Host to place students to serve and learn with a legally registered organization.)
3. Provide opportunities for the intern(s) to practice and/or research components of a Field Project related to the intern’s field of study.
4. Provide the intern a weekly schedule, including participation in your community/team practices of worship and intercessory prayer, and community living work duties. The FMI intern will function in the regular schedule as if he/she were a member of the Field Project staff team.
5. Be personally available to the intern(s) for advising, including at least a (one-hour) One-on-One interview at regular weekly intervals. You will agree to offer timely and candid feedback on the quantity and quality of the intern’s work.
6. Provide short online evaluations on the intern’s performance at monthly intervals and upon completion of the internship term. All hours accumulated by the intern will be signed off by the Field Project Internship host supervisor.

Information for Prospective Field Partners

After training and sending 75 student internship teams from over 100 colleges and universities to serve long term projects in over 35 countries, SMC has refined our Field Ministry Internship program to more effectively serve both the student and the Field Partner. As always, we are committed to serve the student to help them understand and refine their response to God’s call.
